This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Enserva STARS & Spurs Gala. Enserva remains committed to being the voice of the energy services, supply and manufacturing sector and will continue to showcase the generosity of the energy industry through events like the Gala and the Live Industry Auction. Tax Receipts
A tax receipt for an auction item may be provided to the winning bidder if they purchase the auction item for more than 125% of the posted fair market value (FMV). For example:
Posted FMV – $45,000
Winning bid – $57,000 (exceeds 125% of FMV = $56,250)
Less advantage/FMV – $45,000 (donor invoice for FMV)
Receipt amount – $12,000
Documentation required to process a tax receipt for the individual winning bidder:
• Invoice or receipt for the winning auction bid/price (used to confirm the over payment of 125%)
• Winning bidders contact information including name, address and phone number. Personal Tax receipts can be provided to individuals and their personal information is required to produce a tax receipt. When applicable, business receipts will be issued to the winning bidder’s organization when purchasing the item for business use.
